INDIA: TROUBLE WITH THE POLICE

On Thursday November 22nd Evangelist Jonathan Barcia, myself, and Pastor Joshua were brought to the police station in the state of Tamil Nadu in South India. We were ministering in an outdoor revival meeting when an RSS member called the police to complain about a gospel meeting being conducted outside. The RSS is a fanatic nationwide group of 5 million members, including the prime minister of India. Their goal is to remove all Christians from India.

We continued the meeting until the end and the Pastorsattended to the police. After the meeting, we were taken to the police station. There were about 20 people there. While we were waiting to be questioned, Evangelist Jonathan and myself started praying and quietly speaking in tongues. We then started a conversation back and forth in Spanish openly because we knew that noone there would have a clue of what we were saying.

The police chief started yelling and using many offensive words to accuse and belittle Pastor Joshua in front of everyone. Then he told his officers to arrest him after he spoke to us. They took my passport but returned it to me right away. When he started questioning me as to the purposeof my visit, I answered him. I started asking him some unique and challenging questions about his country and his government. Some of his officers were dyingto arrest me. I became quite theatrical and this apparently amused him. We keptgoing back and forth for about 10 minutes on many different issues. He welcomed the challenge since he seemed quite intellectual. He kept smiling as I posedvarious questions to him.

Their big issue, we discussed, was the conversion of Hindus to Christianity. I reminded him there is a big difference between what they accused Christians of and what actually happens. No one is forced to convert. Conversionsis by choice by their free will.

He finally released us, as well as Pastor Joshua, with awarning not to preach outside without their permission, which they would not grant without a high amount of money being paid to the court as well as to thepolice for their protection.

We plan on preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ boldly where ever God sends us. The Lord will move as he did in the book of Acts. Thank you so much for praying for us and our host pastors. Although we were challenged, God truly gave us a great victory tonight.

INDIA: BATTLING A WITCH

I am thankful for all of the prayers. We really needed it this past Sunday. It was a crazy day. We rode a long distance by motorcycle.  When the Pastor who was driving me turned the corner, he hit a patch of sand and the engine cut off at the same time.  We both went flying off of the bike.  We did not get injured because our speed was quite low.

The church was in a very mountainous rural area. They are indesperate need of teaching on church order. The have no ushers in the church. There was a woman living in the village who came to the service. We found out later that she is a witch. This woman had all of the people in fear. It was said that if anyone came against her, she would curse them and they would die.

After a few songs, she stood up and demanded with a loud voice that it was time to preach and to stop all of the music. Many people rose up with her and a big argument broke out. Finally, the music continued. Then Evangelist Jonathan got up to exhort the people to worship God from their hearts and not mechanically. They started to worship God in the spirit. The Holy Spirit fell upon everyonelike a mighty wind. They were praising God, dancing, shouting and shaking underthe power of God. Large groups of people started speaking in tongues for the first time. Praise God.

I then preached the message God had given me. Most of the people got healed. At the end of the service the woman who is a witch went up on the platform as they were counting the offering. She started screaming that she deserved the offering. At the same time, all the young women who had been filled with the Holy Spirit started singing a song. This witch threatened the Pastor that if they did not stop singing, she would slap him in the face. She was cursing inher Indian dialect. The Pastor was videoing the singing with Evangelist Johnathan’s new cellphone. Seconds later the witch did slap the Pastor in the face and went on to knock the cellphone out of his hand. At that point, I commanded her to stop in the name of Jesus. She temporarily froze. A short while later, she started grabbing the young sisters who had sung to us and proceededto throw them out of the church. At that point, I had enough. I told her with extreme righteous indignation that either you are leaving or the demons inside of your body are leaving, but either way the demons are leaving the church. I ran over to her and grabbed her arm and physically started to throw her out of the church.  She took a dive. On the way down, she tried to bite my hand. She did touch my, skin but I pulled away before her teeth could do any damage. Ironically, her own jewelry cut a big gasin her arm. Blood started coming out and flew onto the Pastor’s shirt. The people started to assist me in throwing her out of the church. They locked the door but she kept pounding on the door cursing and demanding to come back in.

She then proceed to take a nail and puncture the tire of our borrowed motorcycle. The Pastor then took his rightful place and went outside with the witch to defend the members of the church and our expensive equipment. God has truly given us great victories here through the prayers of so many people.
